Gear up for Namibia’s first gravel race, the Khomas100 National Championship. Here, you’ll find the Khomas100 info you need to conquer the challenge, from frequently asked questions to prize money.

Rider and race info
Where's the starting line?
The starting locations vary depending on your race distance:
- Full distance: Starts from 7:00 at CYMOT, Kleine Kuppe
- Half distance: Group Start at 8:00 at NWR Gross Barmen Resort
- Short distance: Group Start at 8:30 at NWR Gross Barmen Resort
- Race times are subject to change
What's the cut-off time?
- A qualifying speed of 16km/h is enforced with cut-offs at designated water points.
- Full distance cut-off : If you’re not at water point 5 (131km) by 15:00 the sweeper car will pick you up.
- Half distance Cut-off at 14:00.
- Short distance Cut-off at 12:30.
When will the prize giving be?
Prize giving will be at the NWR Gross Barmen Resort.
- Full distance Elites, African and Namibian Champs, Half and Short Distance, Para Athletes and full distance E-Bike riders: 13:30
- Full distance age groups: 15:00
Where do I find my results?
- Official race results will be shared by Finish Time and will be available on the website and social media pages.

Where are the water points/tech zones?
The race features five water points along the full distance route (subject to change):
- Water Point 1: 40km (Hydration, feeding point and CYMOT Tech Zone)
- Water Point 2: 59km (Hydration point)
- Water Point 3: 80km (Hydration, feeding point and Cycletec Tech Zone)
- Water Point 4: 114km (Hydration point)
- Water Point 5: 132km (Hydration and feeding point)
- Water Point 6: 147km (Hydration – water only)
- Finish line: 157km Race Village and Mannies Bike Mecca Tech Zone)
Half distance route (subject to change):
- Water Point 1: 12km and 72km (Hydration point – water only)
- Water Point 2: 22km and 66km (Hydration and feeding point)
- Water Point 3: 44km (Hydration and feeding point)
Short distance route:
- Water Point 1: 12km and 32km (Hydration – water only)
- Water point 2: 22km (Hydration and feeding point)
How does the Namibian National Champs work?
The Elite Namibian winners (male and female) in the full distance, 157km, will be crowned the Namibian Champions. Contact the Race Director for more info.
How does the African Continental Champs work?
The Elite African winners (male and female) in the full distance, 157km, will be crowned the African Continental Champions. Contact the Race Director for more info.
How do I qualify for the Gravel World Champs 2025?
Elite and Age Group riders who are registered with the UCI can qualify for the UCI Gravel World Championships 2025.
View the UCI Regulations.
- Female riders over 50 and male riders over 60 can qualify for UCI World Champs on the half distance.
- There will be no prize money if you qualify for the UCI World Champs 2025.
- You will have to compete on a gravel bike at the UCI World Champs.
Are there any podium prizes?
Yes, prize money amounts to over N$250 000.00 and NWR vouchers.
Full distance:
There will be separate podiums for male and female riders in each of their categories. View a breakdown of the prize money for the official race categorie here.
For the full distance there will be a King and Queen of the Mountain. Look out for the signs.
Cash prize categories apply to solo riders only. This is not a team event.
Half distance:
Prize money for open category winners.
Short distance:
Prize money for open category winners.
E-Bikes:
Prize money for open category winners.
Are support cars allowed?
For safety reasons, support cars are prohibited on the route. Riders must rely on the water points (there will be 6 total). Event cars and ambulances will be present. Any rider using a support car will be disqualified. Elite riders can hand in pre-marked bottles at the start to be taken to water point 3 (80km) for collection, please contact racedirector@khomas100.com.na.
GPS and Routes
Can I see the route?
Visit the Routes page on the website to view the routes. Downloadable gpx files will be shared closer to the date.
Will there be bike mechanics on course?
Yes, mechanics will be available at tech water point 1, water point 3 and at the finish line.
What is the Khomas100 route like?
The full distance route starts in Windhoek and is a captivating mix of flat plains and challenging climbs. Conquer a total elevation gain of approximately 2300 meters and finish at the NWR Gross Barmen Resort.
Do I need a specific bike?
Gravel bikes are ideal, but modifications to your mountain bike are welcome for safety. If you are uncertain please contact the Race Director on racedirector@khomas100.com.na. Rigid forks and hardtails are suitable, and while there are paved sections, a road bike won’t handle the entire course and will not be allowed. Any mountain bike and E-bike is welcome to participate.
Bike modifications:
• Mountain or gravel bikes (minimum 6.8kg without bottles/GPS) are allowed.
• Any handlebar style with one-piece construction permitted (no clip-on extensions).
• There is no minimum or maximum tyre width.
• Contact racedirector@khomas100.com.na for modification inquiries.
• Bikes will be checked at the start to avoid disqualification.

Do I need a GPS device?
GPS devices are compulsory. You need to be able to navigate the route with the supplied GPS maps. Basic markings will be in place, with route marshals along the way at any danger areas. If you have any questions regarding certain points, please contact info@khomas100.com.na
What happens if I get lost?
Return to your nearest water point or contact Race Director Anri Parker at +264 81 126 0501.

How do I register?
Registration opens 1 April 2025.
What's the registration fee?
EARLY BIRD (From 1 April 2025 – only 100 spots per distance)
Short distance – N$200
Half distance – N$450
Full distance – N$1100
NORMAL FEES (until 9 August 2025)
Short distance – N$300
Half distance -N$550

LATE ENTRY (after 10 August 2025, if available)

When and where can I collect my race number and goodie bag?
Registration takes place on Friday, 22 August, from 15:00 to 18:00 at CYMOT Hilltop. More information will be sent via email closer to the date. There will be a short race briefing at 17:30.
During registration, confirm your entry with your name and surname.
How do I pay for my race entry?
Your race entry is only final once have completed the payment on the payment link or by contacting the race director. More details will be shared once the entries open on 1 April 2025.

How do I substitute a rider?

Race substitutions can only be made until 10 August 2025.
Is there a cancellation policy?
Refunds: A 50% refund until 31 May 2025 and a 30% refund will be issued for cancellations made before 30 June 2025. No refunds will be granted after this date.
E-Bike Riders
Are E-Bikes allowed?
E-bikes are allowed in all races.
Where can I hand in and collect my spare battery?
Full distance E-bike riders will be able to hand in their clearly marked batteries at registration and then collect it at water point 3 (80km). Nowhere else. Please ensure both batteries are marked clearly.
No private support cars will be allowed on the route. Riders receiving outside assistance other than at the designated stations from support crew will be disqualified.
After the Race
How do I get back to Windhoek after the race?
You can book your return shuttle from Gross Barman for only $300 pp for you and your bike with B6 Transport on 081 319 7707. Only 20 spots available.
What facilities are available at the finish line venue?

- Kick back and unwind with a delicious selection of coffee and sweet treats.
- Beers, wines, and soft drinks at the Beer Tent.
- Remember to book and pay for a cooked braai pack for the finish line Order Now
- Need a more extensive meal option? The Gross Barmen Restaurant will be open to satisfy your appetite.
- Wash away the race grime with access to hot and cold showers at the finish line venue.
- Cool down and unwind with a refreshing swim in the venue’s swimming pools (both hot and cold options available).
