With less than 5 days to go until the Khomas100 2025 CAC AFRICAN CONTINENTAL GRAVEL BIKE CHAMPIONSHIP – UCI GRAVEL SERIES on 23 August, the excitement is building. We know you’re busy with your final training, so we’ve put together this essential update to answer your questions and ensure you have all the crucial information for race day. We have over 50 elite athletes, over 500 entries and riders from countries like South Korea, Rwanda, UK, Belgium, Botswana, Kenya and RSA.
RACE DAY ESSENTIALS
ELITE ATHLETES VERY VERY IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!
Only riders in the elite category will be allowed to give WELL MARKED (WITH YOUR NAME) bottles to the race director at the start line. They will be loaded in bottle carriers and taken to water point 3 (80km – Cycletec) on Saturday where they will be put on a table for you to grab. NO support is allowed to any rider on the route. No support cars are allowed on the route. Any rider seen with a support car will be disqualified immediately. There are more than enough event cars and emergency vehicles on route and water tables almost every 20 kilometers.
Registration takes place on Friday, 22 August, from 15:00 to 18:00 at CYMOT Hilltop. With a short race briefing at 17:50.
157km Start Details:
- Start Chute: The official start chute is located in Chasie Street, between CYMOT and the NHP Building.
- Parking: Plenty of free parking is available inside the Virgin Active parking area. Please enter the top-level parking from the Hill Top Food Lover’s/Lady Pohamba Hospital side, NOT the Grove Mall/Virgin Active side.
- Toilets: Public toilets are conveniently available inside Virgin Active, CYMOT, and The Grove Mall shopping center, all within 50m of the start line.
- Briefing: Please be in your start chute 15 minutes before your start time for the final race brief. PAY ATTENTION as there may be last-minute changes.
- Start Times:
- All Male Riders: 7:00 AM
- Female Riders: 7:03 AM
- E-Bikes: 07:06 AM
- Cut off: If you’re not at water point 5 (131km) by 15:00 the sweeper car will pick you up. So you have to ride faster that 16km/h.
- Route Start: You’ll head north for 100m, cross the traffic lights, go onto gravel for another 300m, past the Standard Bank Building through a gate and then turn onto the B1 Free Way. Police and ambulance staff will be escorting each peloton for your safety. OBEY THEM AT ALL TIMES!
- NB: Once you get to the Pioneerspark intersection, you will turn left and immediately right onto the dirt road for 1.8kms to get to the Rocky Crest Bridge (running parallel with the B1). There will be police, marshals and staff. The road is well compacted and it will be easy to follow.
- Route Marking: The rest of the 157km route will be well marked with DHL distance markers. However, we highly recommend you download the GPX file from our website as a backup.
84km Start Details:
- For our Half Distance riders, your race begins at 8:00 AM sharp with a mass group start at the NWR Gross Barmen Resort. Your out-and-back route will include 3 dedicated water points to keep you fueled and hydrated throughout your ride (at the 12km, 44km and 72km mark).
- Cut off: 14:00
44km Start Details:
- Our Short Distance riders will also have a group start at the NWR Gross Barmen Resort at 8:30 AM sharp. This enjoyable route includes 3 well-stocked waterpoints to ensure you have what you need to cross the finish line strong! (at the 12km, 22km and 32km mark).
- Cut off: 12:30
WATER POINT AND TECH ZONE INFO
Our amazing waterpoint staff are ready to support you. The route will be clearly marked.
WATEPOINTS FOR THE 157km RACE:
- WP1 (Approx. 40km): CYMOT / 226ers Tech zone
- Water and 226ers supplements will be available. Look out for tech support from CYMOT.
- WP2 (Approx. 59km): Pepsi, SuperC and Rhodes
- Water, Pepsi, Super C, Rhodes products, and 226ers supplements will be available.
- WP3 (Approx. 80km): Cycletec and Tech Zone
- This is a critical point! Water and Cycletec tech support will be available.
- Elite Athletes: This is also your designated bottle swop and E-bike battery swap point. Your pre-marked bottles and batteries will be clearly displayed on a separate table in bottle cages. Please DO NOT touch other riders’ bottles/batteries, quickly grab yours and go! The race is fast-paced, so visibility will be key.
- WP4 (Approx. 114km): Pepsi, Super C and Rhodes
- Water, Pepsi, Super C, and Rhodes products will be available.
- WP5 (Approx. 132km): Indongo
- Water and snacks will be available.
- WP6: (Approx 145km) Hollard – WATER AND ICE ONLY.
- Finish: Mannies Bike Mecca Tech Zone.

GROSS BARMEN ACCESS AND ACCOMMODATION
FREE Resort Access: Each rider will receive up to 5 armbands for friends and family, granting them FREE access to the Gross Barmen Resort!

PRIZE MONEY AND RIDER LIST
We’re proud to announce a total prize purse of N$250,000, with N150,000 in cash and N$100,000 in NWR vouchers. This is the biggest prize purse by far, even compared to European gravel races!
