Everything You Need to Know about the Khomas100
Gear up for Namibia’s first gravel race, the Khomas100 National Championship. Here, you’ll find the Khomas100 info you need to conquer the challenge, from frequently asked questions to prize money.

Rider and race info
Where's the starting line?
The starting locations vary depending on your race distance:
- 157km: Starts 7:00 at CYMOT Kleine Kuppe
- 84km: Group Start at 7:30 at NWR Gross Barmen Resort
- 44km: Group Start at 8:00 at NWR Gross Barmen Resort
- Race times are subject to change
What's the cut-off time?
- A qualifying speed of 15km/h is enforced with cut-offs at designated water points.
- Strict cut-offs are in place at water point 2 (11:00) and 5 (17:30), with a soft cut-off at water point 4 (16:00). Subject to change.
- 157km Cut-off enforced at 17:00.
- 84km Cut-off at 13:00.
- 44km Cut-off at 11:30.
Where do I find my results?
- Your results will be available upon crossing the finish line through the event timing officials. Official race results will be shared on the website and social media platforms.

Where are the water points?
The race features five water points along the 157km route (subject to change):
- Water Point 1: 43km (Hydration station, feeding point and CYMOT Tech Zone)
- Water Point 2: 60km (Hydration station)
- Water Point 3: 80km (Hydration station, feeding point and Cycletec Tech Zone)
- Water Point 4: 100km (Hydration station)
- Water Point 5: 120km (Hydration station and feeding point)
- Finish line: 143km (Mannies Bike Mecca Tech Zone)
84km route (subject to change):
- Water Point 1: 22km (Hydration station)
- Water Point 2: 42km (Hydration station and feeding point)
- Water Point 3: 60km (Hydration station)
44km route:
- Water Point 1: 22km (Hydration station)
How does the Namibian National Champs work?
The UCI and NCF have allowed gravel or mountain bikes to compete for the National Champion title. While the route favours gravel bikes, mountain bikers can still claim the podium. He/she will receive the National Championship jersey and medal but no prize money in line with Namibian Cycling Federation (NCF) regulations and will get an entry to UCI world championships 2025.
You will have to register as an Elite rider for the 2025 season.
How does the African Continental Champs work?
The Elite African winners (male and female) in the full distance, 157km, will be crowned the African Continental Champions. More info will be shared soon.
How do I qualify for the Gravel World Champs 2025?
Elite and Age Group riders who are registered with the UCI can qualify for the UCI Gravel World Championships 2025 (more info will be shared soon).

- Female riders over 50 and male riders over 60 can qualify for UCI World Champs on the 88km.
- There will be no prize money if you qualify for the UCI World Champs 2025.
- You will have to compete on a gravel bike at the UCI World Champs.
Are there any podium prizes?
Yes, prize money amounts to over N$250 000.00 for full distance riders. Note that no cash prizes will be given to E-bikes, 84km or 44km riders.
Full distance:
There will be separate podiums for male and female riders in each of their categories. View a breakdown of the prize money for the official race categories here.
For the full distance there will be an FNB King and Queen of the Mountain. The KOM and QOM will each receive a N$5,000 Cycletec voucher.
Cash prize categories apply to solo riders only. This is not a team event.
84km:
There will be no cash prize money for the 84km winners. The first male and female contenders will receive vouchers.
44km:
No prize money for 44km riders.
E-Bikes:
Vouchers for E-bike riders.
Are support cars allowed?
For safety reasons, support cars are prohibited on the route. Riders must rely on the water points. Event cars and ambulances will be present. Any rider using a support car will be disqualified. Elite riders can send pre-marked bottles to water points 2 and 4 for collection, please contact racedirector@khomas100.com.na.

Can I see the route?
Visit the Routes page on the website to view the routes. Downloadable gpx files will be shared closer to the date.
Will there be bike mechanics on course?
Yes, mechanics will be available at tech zone 1 (Cymot), 2 (Cycletec) and at the finish line (Mannies Bike Mecca).
What is the Khomas100 route like?
The 157km route starts in Windhoek and is a captivating mix of flat plains and challenging climbs. Conquer a total elevation gain of approximately 2000 meters and finish at the NWR Gross Barmen Resort.
Do I need a specific bike?
Gravel bikes are ideal, but modifications to your mountain bike are welcome for safety. If you are uncertain please contact the Race Director on racedirector@khomas100.com.na. Rigid forks and hardtails are suitable, and while there are paved sections, a road bike won’t handle the entire course and will not be allowed. Any mountain bike and E-bike is welcome to participate.
Bike modifications:
• Mountain or gravel bikes (minimum 6.8kg without bottles/GPS) are allowed.
• Any handlebar style with one-piece construction permitted (no clip-on extensions).
• There is no minimum or maximum tyre width.
• Contact racedirector@khomas100.com.na for modification inquiries.
• Bikes will be checked at the start to avoid disqualification.

Do I need a GPS device?
GPS devices are compulsory. You need to be able to navigate the route with the supplied GPS maps. Basic markings will be in place, with route marshals along the way at any danger areas. If you have any questions regarding certain points, please contact info@khomas100.com.na
What happens if I get lost?
Return to your nearest water point or contact Race Director Anri Parker at +264 81 126 0501.

How do I register?
Registration opens 1 April 2025.

When and where can I collect my race number and goody bag?
Registration takes place on Friday, 22 August, from 15:00 to 18:00 at CYMOT Hilltop. More information will be sent via email closer to the date.
During registration, confirm your entry with your name and surname.
How do I pay for my race entry?
Your race entry is only final once have completed the payment on the payment link or by contacting the race director. More details will be shared once the entries open on 1 April 2025.

How do I substitute a rider?

Race substitutions can only be made until 10 August 2025.
Is there a cancellation policy?
Refunds: A 50% refund until 31 May 2025 and a 30% refund will be issued for cancellations made before 30 June 2025. No refunds will be granted after this date.
E-Bike Riders
Are E-Bikes allowed?
E-bikes are allowed in all races.
Where can I hand in and collect my spare battery?
Full distance E-bike riders will be able to hand in their clearly marked batteries at registration and then collect it at Waterpoint 2 (to be confirmed). Nowhere else. Please ensure both batteries are marked clearly.
No private support cars will be allowed on the route. Riders receiving outside assistance other than at the designated stations from support crew will be disqualified.
After the Race
How do I get back to Windhoek after the race?
Cycletec is offering a FREE shuttle service running every two hours from the NWR Gross Barmen Resort starting at 14:00. Spots are limited (only 20 bikes per shuttle), so reserve yours in advance with Frank on frank@cycletec.com.na. The shuttle will drop you off at Arebbusch, Windhoek.
Arebbusch will offer a shuttle service (without bike). More info will be shared closer to race day.
What facilities are available at the finish line venue?

- Kick back and unwind with a delicious selection of coffee and sweet treats from Two Beards Coffee Roasters, available from 6:00.
- NBLwill be serving up beers, wines, and soft drinks at their Beer Tent.
- Need a more extensive meal option? The Gross Barmen Restaurant will be open to satisfy your appetite.
- Wash away the race grime with access to hot and cold showers at the finish line venue.
- Cool down and unwind with a refreshing swim in the venue’s swimming pools (both hot and cold options available).
- Treat yourself to some post-race pampering with a spa visit (reservations required with NWR).
- Bonus:all riders and up to three family members get complimentary access to a day pass!
