Namibia gears up to debut its first-ever Namibia National Gravel Champs, set to take place in the Khomas region on October 26, 2024. Gravel biking, a burgeoning discipline in the global cycling scene with recognized UCI status, will take center stage in this landmark event.

Participants can choose from three challenging race options: 40km, 90km, and 160km, catering to gravel bikes, mountain bikes, and e-bikes alike. The event boasts a substantial prize pool of $150,000 earmarked for the elite category of the 160km race, drawing a competitive field including international entrants.

“The inaugural event promises an exhilarating blend of tar, gravel, and expansive district roads, presenting riders with formidable hilly terrain,” remarked event spokesperson [Name], emphasizing the diverse and challenging course awaiting participants.

Highlighting the stakes for Namibian riders, the first male and female finishers in the 160km race will earn the prestigious title of National Champ and secure entry to the 2025 World Champs in France, offering them a chance to compete against the world’s best cyclists.
